Our collections include more than 106 families, 334 genera, and 1,130 species of plants. There are more than 4,700 unique accessions in the Arboretum that include more than 180,000 individual plants, each carefully recorded in our plant records database and inventoried, labeled, and mapped. Our cultivated collections feature plants assembled for their botanical interest, educational and research value, and aesthetic merit.

How to Read Our Plant Labels
You may notice that many of the trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals in the H.O. Smith Botanic Gardens are outfitted with display labels that identify the plants.
