The Great Goldenrod Bug Hunt
A native wildflower that might be growing in your back yard supports a community of dozens of insect species that live around and even inside the plant! On the Great Goldenrod Bug Hunt, children and parents will observe the many insects that call goldenrod home. This program, guided by Penn State entomologists, will include bug-catching, coloring, and outdoor fun!
This free program is open to children and their parents/guardians. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is responsible for their supervision throughout the program.
Wear sturdy shoes suitable for rustic paths, bring a water bottle, and wear clothing suitable for exploring a sunny, outdoor location.
Advance registration is recommended for participation in this program. Drop-in participants will be welcomed the day of the program, if space is available.
