Cultivate your artistic skills and connect with nature as spring begins! With an inquisitive and encouraging approach, we will develop core art-making skills while working directly with motifs of plants, gardens, and landscape in the Arboretum.

Participants will create with the versatile media of soft and hard pastel to express what they see and capture what inspires them in the natural world. Approaches and supplies for painting and drawing outdoors will also be discussed. The series of classes will begin indoors to develop basic pastel handling techniques and evolve to working outside in the Arboretum as the growing season and weather permit. No previous art experience is needed; the emphasis will be on exploration, creating with wonder, and seeing more as you do!
