Umar is a Ph.D. candidate and graduate assistant at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Penn State. He hails from Lagos, Nigeria. He holds a master of education in science education and bachelor of science in education in biology education from Lagos State University, Nigeria. His research interest includes culturally relevant pedagogy, climate change education, and advanced classroom technologies. Umar is a doctoral fellow at the Mutegi STEM Learning Lab at Old Dominion University in Virginia. Umar has demonstrated his leadership in professional and community service, contributing to conferences and initiatives aimed at promoting quality education and inclusive learning environments.
