Stories Under the Sky

night sky imageOn the first Friday of each month, join researchers from Penn State’s Department of Anthropology and storytellers from the State College community as they share myths and legends about the stars from diverse cultures under the open sky in the Arboretum. After each night’s story is told, Penn State Department of Astronomy students and researchers will guide us in stargazing, if skies are clear. This program will be held in Childhood’s Gate Children’s Garden and will be cancelled with steady rain or inclement weather.

  • Friday, May 6, 7:45 to 9:15 p.m.
  • Friday, June 3, 8:15 to 9:45 p.m.
  • Friday, July 1, 8:30 to 10:00 p.m.
  • Friday, August 5, 8:15 to 9:45 p.m.
  • Friday, September 2, 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday, October 7, 6:45 to 8:15 p.m.

All ages welcome

No registration required

All events, programs, and activities are dependent on weather and may be canceled in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. All minors must be accompanied by a parent and/or legal guardian during all events, programs, and activities unless registration or marketing materials explicitly state otherwise.
