GALLS OF THE ARBORETUM WITH THE FROST ENTOMOLOGICAL MUSEUM

July 19 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Have you ever wondered what the peculiar balls and swellings on plants were? Those are galls! Come learn about the different galls you might see at the Arboretum, the insects that make these galls, and why the relationship between galling insects and plants is so unique. We will provide children and their parents with directions for a gall-themed scavenger hunt, and will have a variety of galls and preserved galling insects on site that you can view under the microscope! This program is offered in partnership with the Frost Entomological Museum.
