Animal Signs and Tracking Basics

February 6 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Take a walk with us through Hartley Wood as we explore the art and science of animal tracking. Tracking has been called “the first science,” and participants will learn tracking basics which will help them develop and investigate hypotheses about “what happened here?” The program will focus on locating macro-signs of common mammals found in and around the State College area. Program involves a hike over uneven, rocky terrain.

Instructor: Jason Andrew Beale is an education program specialist at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center and is a lifelong naturalist. He has conducted tracking programs and workshops with the Audubon and Delaware Nature Society, with a focus on wildlife coexistence.
