This plant, Aquilegia canadensis L. (wild columbine), is included in the floristic survey conducted by Daniel Laughlin, Penn State graduate student in ecology.

One of the fields now used for agriculture may become a patch of restored prairie. An experimental plot has already been created in soil likely to support the grasses that once covered large areas in certain sections of the state.
